WELLNESS & SPA

There are a number of spas and wellness resorts in the area: The Spa & Centro Benessere Fiore di Loto is a mere 9km away. The small but excellent resort features a pool, a whirlpool, a sauna, a  grotto spa, and a solarium. The entrance fees are reasonable. We recommend advance bookings; we will be delighted to make reservations on your behalf.

In Rapolano, about a one-hour drive toward Siena, you will find the Terme Sani Giovanni. Once known as Bagni Marii, the thermal springs were already frequented in the third century before Christ. In the 13th century, they were expanded by the Sienese government. Water temperatures are 39°C. The ancient springs rose near the Montagnola scale build-ups or Acqua delle Rupe. The “white” and pleasant water is both chalky and sulphurous. We therefore recommend using old bathing wear.

The baths and treatments of the Terme di Montepulciano are very pleasant and worth a visit, following a wine tasting, for instance.

The most famous thermal baths of the region are located in Chianciano Terme south of Montepulciano. Chianciano, a charming mountain village, is one of Italy’s most popular spa towns. The spa is part of a large, multifaceted therapy centre operated by one of the country’s leading provider of health and beauty treatments.
